Holistic nutrition is the idea that your health is an expression of the complex interactions between physical, chemical, mental, and environmental aspects of your life. It's not about cutting out certain food groups or being restrictive with your diet—it's about finding balance and listening to your body to achieve optimal health.
Holistic nutrition is all about helping you achieve optimal health by addressing the whole person. I use nutritional education as a primary tool. As a holistic nutrition professional, I emphasize the building of health by approaching each person as a unique individual. This requires fully engaging each person in their health recovery process and honouring their innate wisdom by working in an empowering and cooperative manner to chart a course to optimal health.
Holistic nutrition is not just about food. As a holistic nutritionist, I help people make changes in their diets by focusing on changing habits and lifestyle changes instead of just focusing on nutrients. I work with clients to help them develop an overall understanding of how food affects their lives. Holistic nutritionists are guides on the journey toward optimal health. We help people identify what makes them feel good (or bad!), then help them make choices that support those feelings over time. I know how hard it can be to navigate the world of nutrition alone—and I want to make it easier for my clients!
